If you recall we are poised to make a move to a great loft space in just a few days! I had never painted the walls in any of my apartments over the years for some reason (read: laziness/indecision), but I knew that this time around I definitely wanted to try it out... Luckily we have the best landlord in all the world who let me into the unit a couple weeks early to start the project before all of our things were filling (and probably bursting out of) the space. He even brought up the touch-up paint that matched the walls and trim to my loft! What a guy, right!?
What started as monochromatic high-gloss/matte stripes for the wall in our kitchen turned into a much more involved process than I had the patience for...
[So much taping.]
[The first coat.]
[Blue tape doesn't make for good lines apparently, so I ended up free-handing each and every stripe... It was at this point that I gave up on the endeavor and opted to settle for the über preppy look. I'm quite pleased with the results regardless!]
Note: An accent wall in the bedroom was also painted, but that was decidedly less exciting or dramatic. On Tuesday we were able to get the keys, finish the paint touching up, and move a load of things in. Hopefully this will make our official move-in day next week just a little easier.
[Lily came with us so that she could sniff the place out before it becomes her new home! Our little downtown area has so much excitement for her just out the windows.]
[All. That. Hardwood! As well as the beginning of boxes covering our countertops.]
I cannot wait to share more photos as things start to come together after move-in day. Stay tuned!
This look is also very made for special occasion parties. You can have the chairs customized for them to suit your favorite style and as well décor. You should shop around on your counter height chairs to discover the look and feel that you would like for your kitchen or maybe dining area.
