Hotel Bookings, Barcelona:

Since Delta pushed our flight up an entire day, we needed to figure out where to spend that first night in Europe. Spend an extra day in France? Move our Nice reservations up a day to be back in Spain earlier? Tack on another city? Marseille or Provence, perhaps? So many logistical options!

In the end the beau decided that an entire day of planes needn't be followed by one filled with trains, so he suggested that we stay in Barcelona to relax and recoup before heading into France. Him being the more seasoned traveler, I gave him complete control over this decision.

Reservations were made at the H10 Montcada for that first evening, right in the center of Barcelona's Gothic District! I am already having trouble narrowing down which museums and sights we should explore during our initial day since so many are within walking distance! Here are some photos of our digs:

[Um... Peek the view from this room. Yup. Enough said.]

We may still add on another excursion if we are not completely dying to get back to Barcelona, but that won't be decided upon until we are there. Leaving a few things open-ended like this adds to the excitement of the whole experience for me, which I just love! We are free to indulge in our impulses and be a little spontaneous.
